Dirty, country of snake charmers, poverty ridden, ill-mannered people, terror-prone, corruption whore-house, filthy and what not. You may have heard all these adjectives about India. You may have also been hearing lately, that India is where the business is and that’s what as if is driving the foreigners alone to take travel to India. It is not just the business alone, but the business of Travel too that is booming in India, and this despite travel advisories of various nations against travel. Why? Read on…….
India is seeing the foreign tourist population grow each year, and there are many reasons for the same. It is not about India’s cultural heritage, the TAJ, the deserts of Rajasthan, the ancient sex-depicting caves at Ajanta and Ellora, but the spiritual abode that the tourist find soul-inspiring like mighty Himalayas, the medical-tourism, the green escapades of enchanting Kerala, the beaches of Trivandrum and Goa, the sacrosanct rivers at Varanasi, Haridwar, Rishikesh, are all meandering their thoughts and memories. Kashmir is a dared and dreaded tourist destination due to terror activities, but a famous poet had written these immortal words about Kashmir, ” that if there is at all heaven on earth, it is here, here and here alone”. But so many tourists have still thronged the place in recent years. Terror does hurt in Delhi, Mumbai and Gujarat often , no doubt, and travel adversaries are given by US, UK and other Governments of the world when they themselves have done very little to control terror in their own courtyards, and have financed the harboring of terror in lands where it originated.
India is still the apostle of peace despite dirty politics of Western world and its own perpetrators and political protagonists, who do very little to fight terror- if only they had time to go beyond creating wealth for themselves by corrupt and criminal ways. And this peace is what deserves your visit, to see the Indian culture ( which the western world is fast pervading), Indian diversity, Indian heritage, Indian ethos, Indian fauna and flora, a plethora of religious fervour, an ensemble of- temples,deserts, forts, beaches and mountains etc and all pervasive “Atithi devo bhava” cultural inheritance, when it comes to guests. The ancient ethos had trailed the Indian mind to treat its guests like a God, still prevail despite erosion of many other cultural ethos and sense of Deja Vu can be seen clearly from the first time travelers to India. Despite agony of an average Indian in the hands of misery delivered by its politicians largely, it has still not altered and vitiated, the sense of respect, behavior towards a guest, even though crime and corruption have eroded the comfort of living in India with the pride that an Indian deserved.
The best adjective that deserves INDIA, is Namaste India! Incredible it is, as you have all heard about it profoundly.
You look for bad things, where are they not? There are bad people in very nook and corner of the world. Bad politicians today are managing the countries badly, is true all over the world. There is a bad mind in each one of us, but we need look for goodness, to be good. Look for goodness that India has to offer and in plenty, and you will need a third of your life time that you like to spend on vacationing, to come and see India and the parts of India that you must.Where would you like to begin.
